With Austria having edged Jordan 3-1, and Argentina thumping Algeria 3-0 in the early hours of Wednesday morning (SA time), there are two more Fifa World Cup matches on the schedule today.
The first sees Portugal take on DR Congo in a Group K clash kicking off at 7pm SA time. The match will be played at Houston Stadium in Houston, USA.
Portugal, led by legendary forward Cristiano Ronaldo, are overwhelming favourites to start their campaign with a victory. According to pre-match predictions, Portugal have a 71% chance of winning, while the probability of a draw sits at 17%. DR Congo are given just a 9% chance of pulling off an upset.
At 10pm SA time, attention turns to Group L as England face Croatia in what is expected to be a more closely contested encounter.
England are rated as 56% favourites for victory, while Croatia have a 19% chance of winning. A draw is considered a realistic possibility at 25%.
As usual, much will be expected of England captain Harry Kane, who is likely to spearhead the attack as the Three Lions look to make an early statement at the FIFA World Cup.
