As a sweltering heatwave sweeps across Europe, former Miss South Africa Jo-Ann Strauss has once again found her way back to the familiar and sun-drenched shores of Monaco.
She was joined on this particular journey by her two oldest children.
The media entrepreneur, international master of ceremonies (MC), and public speaker, who shares four children with her German husband, Dr Michael Held, has a long-standing history with the French Riviera.
Her previous visits to the principality include hosting a prestigious charitable fundraiser for the Princess Charlene Foundation, as well as events for Princess Caroline's Amade Mondiale charity.
Furthermore, during her tenure as a “Top Billing” presenter, she secured a highly coveted and exclusive sit-down interview with Princess Charlene Wittstock at the Prince's Palace, shortly before the royal nuptials.
In several Instagram posts, she shared snippets of her recent visit.
She kicked off her social media updates with a carousel featuring videos and photos of a lunch set against a breathtaking backdrop.
She wrote: “The hottest summer in Europe with the hottest friends 😜 absolutely grateful for a short trip to the south of France to see friends who have become like family. And truffle pizza from the legendary @loulourestaurants and seabass cooked to perfection.
“Honestly, a lunch I'll savour forever. There’s a reason the Côte d'Azur is just the place it thinks it is.”
She followed it up with a glimpse into the flight and sightseeing with her “big kids”.
Strauss wrote: “The Principality of Monaco has had a special place in my heart since I hosted an event decades ago with Princess Caroline and later the first event for the foundation of Princess Charlene on Monagasque soil.
"I am grateful to have visited this time with our eldest children and to have friends who always make us feel so welcome. Merci!”
Her European excursion then led her toward Germany.
Documenting the next leg of her journey, she shared: “Next stop, our second home town …”
In the shared footage, a playful caption appeared, prompting followers to identify the location: “Guess the city … and it’s actually also called Monaco … Yip, Munich is Monaco in Italian … city of monks … who also introduced us to beer 🍺 .”
