Addressing supporters in Pretoria, Malema reiterated calls for Ramaphosa’s resignation, saying the EFF will pursue impeachment-related action and keep the Phala Phala issue in the public domain.

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has accused President Cyril Ramaphosa of bringing the Presidency into disrepute over the ongoing Phala Phala matter, saying the party will continue pushing for his removal through Parliament and the courts.
His remarks come amid ongoing legal and parliamentary processes linked to the Phala Phala scandal, including Ramaphosa’s urgent court application to halt Parliament’s impeachment proceedings.
He has also sought to review the Section 89 independent panel report, which found prima facie evidence of possible serious misconduct relating to the 2020 burglary at his Limpopo farm.
The report, compiled by an independent panel chaired by former Chief Justice Sandile Ngcobo, concluded that there was prima facie evidence that the president may have violated the Constitution in relation to the incident involving the alleged theft of foreign currency at the farm.
Parliament has established a 31-member impeachment committee to reassess the findings and determine whether sufficient grounds exist to recommend the president’s removal, following a Constitutional Court ruling directing Parliament to make that determination.
Ramaphosa has approached the Western Cape High Court seeking to interdict the commencement of impeachment proceedings pending the outcome of his review application, arguing that proceeding before the court’s decision could cause him irreparable harm.
The EFF, together with the African Transformation Movement (ATM), has indicated it will oppose the application and insists the parliamentary process should continue.
Addressing supporters during the EFF’s June 16 Rally at the Union Buildings in Pretoria on Tuesday, Malema said the party would not abandon its push for Ramaphosa’s removal through parliamentary processes.
He said the EFF rejected Ramaphosa’s leadership and called for his immediate resignation.
“Ramaphosa must go, and Ramaphosa must go today. We don’t want Ramaphosa as our president. Ramaphosa has brought shame into the Union Buildings.
''The ANC has brought shame into the Union Buildings. They must leave, and they must leave now,” Malema said.
Malema added that the party would continue with impeachment-related processes in Parliament and pursue legal avenues where necessary.
“We are in Parliament, in the impeachment committee, we are going to remove Ramaphosa… We are going to court again with him. He will never stop that process,” he said.
He further said the Phala Phala matter would remain central to the EFF’s political programme.
“As long as the EFF is alive, Phala Phala will never die,” he said.
