Johannesburg - The African Pride Irene Country Lodge’s African Day Spa has been named as the Number 1 Luxury Day Spa on the African continent.
This recognition by World Luxury Spa Awards - the world’s leading spa awards organisation - acknowledges quality, innovation and top-notch service from spas around the world.
“We are thrilled with this award,” explains Lina Phetla, the spa manager. “It reflects that our spa services rank at the highest levels of luxury spa facilities in the world. It’s the third time we have been acknowledged in this way, which highlights the consistency of the quality and service provided by our facility.”
There are 27 categories of awards that are presented to luxury spas on a country, continent and global basis. Sixty African spas were in contention, 30 of which are from South Africa. In addition to the Award for the Luxury Day Spa, the spa at the Irene hotel was also named as a finalist in another category, the Luxury Hotel Spa. It has previously been recognised as a Spa of distinction by the Les Nouvelles Esthetiques International Spa Awards.
The award emphasises the important role of African Pride Hotels in the provision of luxury spa facilities in South Africa, with both the African Pride Mount Grace & African Pride Arabella Hotel and Spa having been previous category winners in this international award.
A beaming Lina Phetla comments that, “The dedication and hard work of the team at the Camdeboo Day Spa over the past year is simply inspirational! Meticulous attention to detail, instinctive and intuitive service together with the retention of key databases, has seen this team reach new heights of success in this competitive industry time and time again.
“And, the unique, tranquil design of our spa is the perfect setting for one to sit back, relax and enjoy a world of pampering - a completely surreal and cared-for experience.”
