On Tuesday, some passengers at O.R. Tambo International Airport (ORTIA) faced travel delays due to operational disruptions. The Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) has acknowledged this issue and is actively working to resolve it.

ACSA has reported a significant improvement in passenger flow and queue management as the situation stabilises. Domestic operations are largely back on track, while additional staff have been deployed to assist international travellers.

The airport management anticipates that normal operational capacity will be fully restored by tomorrow morning, leading to a smoother travel experience for all passengers.

Travel time recommendations

Despite the improvements, travellers are advised to continue arriving at the airport at least two hours before departure for domestic flights and three hours for international flights. This allows ample time for processing and reduces stress.

ACSA reassures the public that these disruptions are isolated to O.R. Tambo International Airport. All other airports within the ACSA network are currently operating without issues.
