If you want to live a healthy life, you need to eat healthily. These days, the food choices we make are usually limited by our imaginations.

People prefer food combinations that have various textures and flavours; however, certain food combinations should not be consumed because they can result in digestive problems.

Not many people understand bad food combinations. Eating the right mix will make your body well-nourished and healthy.

Some of the unhealthy food combinations health experts usually tell us to avoid:

White bread and jam

White bread and jam is a bad food combination because it is low in protein and healthy fat and extremely high in simple carbohydrates. Instead, have fibre-rich whole grain bread with some protein-rich nut butter.

Fruit and yoghurt

Combining fruit and dairy products can lead to a world of suffering.

Experts says dairy foods can be congestive, blocking sinuses, encouraging colds and worsening allergy symptoms. When combined with fruit, the symptoms can worsen.

A better option is natural Greek yoghurt with no additional fruit.

Breakfast cereal and orange juice

Most breakfast cereals are fortified with vitamins and minerals that are great for your health. Unfortunately, they are not so good when eaten with orange juice.

Juices, such as orange juice, contain high amounts of sugar, particularly those that have added sugar.

Health experts note that combined with sugary cereal, the meal can cause a blood sugar spike that may lead to a crash in energy levels about an hour later. Instead, have cereal with other options such as milk or fresh whole fruit.

And look for cereals that are high in fibre and protein and low in added sugars.

Burger and fries

It’s common for people to have fries alongside burgers. The bitter truth is that this is a disaster. The two foods are rich in fat. Therefore, consuming the two will make you tired and lazy within no time.

Both are fried and they result in a rapid increase in sugar and cholesterol levels in the body, leading to an increased appetite and weight gain.

Wine and pudding

Unfortunately for those with a sweet tooth, the delectable combo can wreak havoc on your insides. Alcohol messes up blood sugar levels and increases insulin production.

The high sugar content in dessert will be stored as fat and lead to unhealthy weight gain.
