Kairo Forbes has followed in her late rapper father’s footsteps by winning her first Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award.
Forbes took home the award for Favourite African Kidfluencer, while her dad, Kiernan “AKA” Forbes scooped an award at the 2019 edition.
“This one’s for you Daddy!” Forbes wrote in her latest Instagram post.
She also thanked everyone who supported her.
“Thank you @nickelodeon_africa KCA for my nomination and congratulations to all the other nominees. Thank you to my family and EVERYONE who voted for me! 🙏🏽💜
“I’m very happy and I appreciate your support. I hope that I inspire other kids to have dreams and that they have family that will support their dreams. Thank you, God for all your blessings.

The 2024 awards took place at Barker Hanger on Saturday, July 13, in Santa Monica, California, and was hosted by SpongeBob SquarePants (voiced by Tom Kenny) and Patrick Star (voiced by Bill Fagerbakke).
At the awards, Forbes was serenaded by her dad’s hit single, “Congratulate”, as she went on stage to collect her award. She said that it felt “amazing” to be Africa’s favourite kidfluencer.
Dillon Khan, vice president of Paramount Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, Viacom International Studios and Creative Services for Africa said: “We are thrilled to celebrate the exceptional talent and achievements of this year's Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards winners.
“Congratulations to Kairo Forbes for bringing the iconic orange blimp to Africa and inspiring children across the continent.”
Some of the ceremony’s highlights included Paul Russell performing his hit single, “Lil Boo Thang” alongside a montage of all the shows, movies, music and popular internet sensations throughout the year; a first-ever multicolour finale slimming, blasted from a surprise giant cake given to SpongeBob for his birthday; and celebrity appearances from Iain Armitage, MrBeast, Benny Blanco, Kylie Cantrall, Timothée Chalamet, Billie Eilish, Anna Kendrick, Post Malone, Rita Ora and Margot Robbie, among others.
