Less than two weeks after her sensational seventh Two Oceans Marathon win in a row two weeks ago, Gerda Steyn is back in training already.
The 36-year-old has already begun her next six-week training block as Steyn now turns her attention to the Comrades Marathon.
Steyn will be looking for her fifth title in the âUltimate Human Raceâ when she will line up as the heavy favourite on June 14 in the âup runâ from Durban to Pietermaritzburg.
With Steyn always aiming to improve on her already legendary record, she has arrived in France to do some heavy training in the âmountainsâ.
âSix weeks of work ahead⌠at least I wonât get tired of the view!â said Steyn on Facebook.
âIt is always a quick turnaround between Two Oceans and Comrades, but that is all part of the fun!
âThe past two weeks were filled with so many great memories, and now that the dust has settled down, I can turn my focus onto the next one.â
According to her Strava account, Steyn has already run five times since Saturday in France with an 18km, two 14km runs, and a 21km training session on Wednesday. Thatâs 67km run in five days while many would still be feeling the effects of having run a 56km race on April 11.
It does seem though, that Steyn did take off at least six days before running again after her victory in Cape Town, which makes regular runners feel a little bit better.
