A Gauteng resident has bagged over R14 million in the Powerball Plus jackpot.
The National Lottery Ithuba said the mother of two from Fochville claimed her prize from the December 3, 2024 draw.
She won a staggering R14,183,678.40.
Ithuba said the winner, an avid lottery player, said she had always dreamed of becoming a millionaire.
Ithuba said the ticket was purchased at a Post Office in Fochville.
She opted to manually select the numbers and spent R30 on her ticket.
“This win means everything to my family and I," the winner told Ithuba.
She said she plans on helping her husband who is a keen farmer, to buy land and cows.
"We have always wanted to own a home, and now that dream is within reach. I also plan to complete my matric and pursue my studies, something I couldn’t do after my mother's passing.”
In congratulating the winner, Ithuba CEO Charmaine Mabuza said: “We are overjoyed to celebrate another incredible success story.
"This significant win is a testament to the life-changing opportunities that the National Lottery brings to players across South Africa.
"We wish our winner all the best on this exciting new journey.”
Ithuba reminded its players the rules of the games, that include tickets being valid for 365 days from date of draw and players being 18 years and over.
