Here’s where the winner of the R43 million Powerball jackpot bought their winning ticket

The winner of the R43 million Powerball jackpot has come forward to claim their prize.

National Lottery Ithuba said the winner purchased their ticket on the ABSA banking app.

The jackpot was won on October 11, 2024.

Ithuba said more details would be available at a later stage.

The Powerball Plus jackpot has rolled over to a staggering R55 million in the October 15, 2024 draw. It has rolled over 20 consecutive times.

In May, two people won millions in the Lotto jackpot using the ABSA banking app.

A Cape Town resident scooped the Lotto Plus 2 jackpot worth a staggering R16,835,658.98.

The Western Cape resident who is an avid National Lottery player, spent R60 on his quick pick winning ticket.

The other player won the Lotto Plus 1 jackpot worth R12,983,575.35.

In another win, someone bagged over R5 million in the Lotto Plus 1 draw from February 24 draw.

The winner won R5,362,864.60 via the ABSA online banking platform.

At the time Nick Nkosi, Managing Executive: Transactional Banking at Absa Everyday Banking said Absa had worked hard to enhance and provide cutting edge, secure digital banking solutions for their customers.

“As a result, we saw a staggering surge in digital transactions to 2.7 billion – among them lottery transactions – over the past year.”
