The South African Police Service (SAPS) leadership in Mpumalanga has expressed grave concern regarding social media videos featuring a member in full official uniform singing and dancing.

Colonel Mavela Masondo stated that such behaviour violates SAPS policies and its code of conduct.

SAPS members are strictly forbidden from filming videos or digital content while in uniform, as doing so damages the organisation's reputation.

The individual involved has been recognised, and internal disciplinary procedures will be initiated against him, as police personnel are required to uphold high standards of professionalism and discipline whenever they are in uniform.

The SAPS is committed to taking firm measures against any personnel whose behaviour negatively impacts the reputation of the service.
