Five suspected cash in transit robbers have been shot dead during a shootout with police in the Ridgeview near Chesterville, KwaZulu-Natal.
The incident unfolded on Wednesday afternoon.
The Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, was reportedly on his way to the scene.
