The Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge is almost double the height of its nearest rival.

Perched at a dizzying 625 metres above the Beipan River below it, the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge is set to open to the public in June.
Located in the mountainous Guizhou province of China, the Huajiang structure is officially the tallest bridge in the world.
Until now that honour belonged to the Millau Viaduct in France, which is significantly lower than the new Chinese bridge, at 343 metres.

The Huajiang creation is a steel truss suspension bridge which is made up of 22,000 tons of steel, the equivalent of three Eiffel Towers.
A project of Guizhou Transportation Investment Group, its main structure was completed in January 2025.
Connecting the Liuzhi and Anlong Special Districts, the 1.42 kilometre-long bridge will reduce the travel time across the Huajiang Grand Canyon from two hours to just one minute.

But its purpose is more than just pragmatic. The bridge also includes a tourist walkway, rest area, glass restaurant, tourist elevator and the obligatory bungee jump platform.
