Midrand, Gauteng - Here's the latest in Jeep's series of limited-edition ‘buzz’ specials, the Wrangler Polar Edition. Based on the Sahara models, a familiar sight on - and off! - South African roads, it's available in either two or four-door format, each with Chrysler's no-nonsense 3.6-litre V6 and auto transmission.
Polar Edition special features include an all-new grille design with gloss black inserts, 18" alloys with painted pockets and polished edges, a body-colour hard top with deeply tinted glass, a Mopar 'Moab' bonnet with mountain motif, a Mopar fuel filler cap - and a new, hard spare-wheel cover that does not come out of the Mopar catalogue; it was designed specially for this model.
It'll be available in three special colours - metallic blue, silver and pearl white.
Inside, you'll find heatable black leather seats with pale grey contrast stitching and embroidered logos, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, armrests and centre console lid (all with contrasting grey top-stitching) and high-gloss white paint on the spokes of the steering wheel, the ventilation bezels and passenger grab handle.
In-car infotainment is provided by a standard-issue Uconnect, while Mopar slush mats keep the Great Outdoors off the carpeting.
