Houston, USA - Jeep's new Cherokee, due in SA this year, has been given extra dose of attitude with the release of the Altitude version.
The special-edition aims for a stealth-like appearance with its gloss black finish for the grille surrounds lower front fascia, roof rails and 18-inch alloy wheels. The cabin, meanwhile, has been suitably blinged up with a black colour scheme.
Customers can order their Altitude in one of four 'clear coat' exterior colours, these being black, white, silver and granite.
Of course, the engine to have here is Chrysler's 3.2-litre Pentastar V6, credited with 200kW and 325Nm, although Jeep is also offering its 137kW/232Nm 2.4-litre MultiAir four-cylinder motor for those on a budget. Both engines are mated to a nine-speed automatic gearbox and there is a choice between 4x2 and 4x4 drive configurations.
The Cherokee Altitude is joined by similar versions of the Grand Cherokee and Wrangler, both also featuring 'blacked out' exteriors.
