Durban is set to welcome international delegates for the reSURGEnce Durban Conference from October 24 to 28.
Delegates from across the United States of America, the Caribbean, and the wider global diaspora are expected to take part in the conference that will be held under the theme, "Decreasing Barriers by Increasing Access".
The reSURGEnce Durban Conference is expected to bring together investors, business leaders, government representatives, entrepreneurs, and faith leaders to explore opportunities that strengthen economic partnerships, investment, entrepreneurship, and collaboration between Africa and the globe.
As the host city, eThekwini Municipality said it is well advanced in its planning and preparations to ensure the successful hosting of the international conference.
EThekwini City Manager Musa Mbhele and USA reSURGEnce Conference Convenor, Reverend Dennis Dillon, have reaffirmed Durban's readiness to welcome delegates from around the world.
"Durban is open for business and ready to welcome the world. As a leading investment and trade destination, our city offers world-class conferencing facilities, modern infrastructure, and an enabling environment for business growth. We look forward to connecting global delegates with local opportunities while showcasing Durban's investment potential,” said Mbhele.
He added that comprehensive safety and security measures are in place to ensure visitors enjoy a safe and productive experience throughout their stay in the city.
The municipality said the reSURGEnce Durban Conference will feature a dynamic programme, including an exhibition showcasing locally manufactured goods, conference sessions focused on sharing business knowledge and ideas, business-to-business engagements aimed at unlocking investment and partnership opportunities, networking sessions, spiritual engagements, and cultural exchange.
Collectively, these activities aim to position Durban as a gateway for investment, collaboration, and meaningful partnerships.
The programme will continue in the USA from November 17 to 22 in New York and Newark, building on the momentum of the Durban conference by advancing discussions and strengthening the partnerships and connections established in Durban.
