The Hollywoodbets Durban July 2026 is officially underway, with more than 45,000 racegoers descending on the Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse for one of South Africa’s biggest horse racing and lifestyle events.
Punters, fashionistas and entertainment lovers arrived early on Saturday, July 4, eager to soak up a day of thrilling racing, standout fashion, live music and delicious food. Durban delivered perfect winter weather, with clear blue skies and warm sunshine providing the ideal backdrop for the annual spectacle.
Roads leading to the racecourse experienced heavy traffic as thousands made their way to the event, while some guests made a grand entrance by helicopter, adding to the glamour synonymous with the Hollywoodbets Durban July.

Racegoers embraced this year’s "Country Allure" theme with confidence and creativity.
Suede jackets, denim ensembles, leather accessories, fringe detailing and cowboy hats dominated the fashion landscape, with many attendees putting a distinctly South African spin on classic country style.
A visible police presence throughout the venue ensured safety remained a priority, allowing visitors to relax and enjoy the festivities.
The event features 29 independently operated hospitality venues and VIP marquees spread across the Greyville Racecourse grounds. Among the standout experiences is Durban Tourism’s Coastal Allure marquee, which celebrates the city’s vibrant coastal lifestyle through curated décor, local flavours and immersive entertainment.

Other popular venues include The Ascots, Chase Lounge, Saso’s Marquee Experience and the JC Le Roux Marquee, each offering premium food, drinks and entertainment.
Those without VIP access are equally well catered for, with an extensive selection of food trucks, local vendors and entertainment areas. The free-to-access Pulse Stage also promises a lively programme of performances throughout the day.
