Rachel Kolisi went to Botswana to spend a few days alone without her family.
It was the first time in years that she was alone for New Year's Eve and shared a heartfelt, inspirational video about her experience.
In the video she is seen spending time alone in reflection, viewing wildlife and horseback riding through the bush, with the caption: "I'm in the process of getting divorced and co-parenting my kids, this was my first new years without my kids so instead of sitting alone at home alone..."
She then goes on to say; “I did my dream trip this new year. Thank you Botswana - you have a big piece of my heart. I booked a solo trip I had been wanting to do for years. Arrived sad and alone, left with a full heart and new friends”.
Filming the bush from a small airplane she ends with saying; “2025 - Let's do it!”
The music choice for the video, Billie Eilish’s “Everything I wanted” is a perfect reflection of how she is feeling and where she is in rebuilding her life as a single woman.
