The government has commended Bafana Bafana for their spirited performance in their opening FIFA World Cup match against Mexico.
Although the result fell short of the nation's expectations, the government said the team represented South Africa with unity, determination and pride on football's biggest stage.
The government encouraged the players, coaching staff and support personnel to remain focused and confident as they prepare for their remaining group-stage fixtures.
South Africans have also been urged to continue rallying behind the national team and support the players as they carry the hopes of the country in the tournament.
The government called on supporters to wear the national colours on Bafana Fridays and remain united behind the team throughout their FIFA World Cup campaign.
It said South Africa remains proud of Bafana Bafana and believes the team has the ability to bounce back stronger in the matches ahead.
"All of us. All in. Kaofela."
