As Bafana Bafana prepare to take on Mexico in their 2026 Fifa World Cup opener, midfielder Jayden Adams already has one person cheering louder than anyone else.
His partner, Aqueelah Adendorf, took to Instagram Stories to share a heartfelt message ahead of the big match.
"Good luck with the World Cup, my love. I am so proud of you and everything you've worked for to get here," she wrote.
"Go out there, enjoy every moment and show the world what you're capable of. No matter what happens, I'll always be your biggest supporter. Wishing you success, confidence and an unforgettable tournament. I love you and can't wait to cheer you on!"
While the first message had football fans reaching for the tissues, Adendorf followed it up with a post that had many smiling.
"Sleeping on a pillow tonight because someone's chest is too far away," she joked.
The couple has become familiar faces within South African football circles. Adendorf has supported Adams throughout his rise in the game and is often seen celebrating his achievements online.

The pair have been together for several years and share a five-year-old daughter.
Adams has previously spoken about the important role Adendorf plays in his life, describing her as his "best girlfriend, supporter and best friend."
When he completed his move from Stellenbosch FC to Mamelodi Sundowns in January 2025, Adams revealed that he first discussed the decision with Adendorf and their daughter.
Although she keeps much of her professional life private, Adendorf regularly shares family moments, travel adventures and snapshots from daily life on social media.
She has also become known for publicly backing Adams at every stage of his career.
Tonight, as South Africa takes on Mexico, Adams will have a nation behind him.
He will also have one devoted supporter at home, hugging a pillow and counting down the minutes until she can cheer him on again.
