Chris Brown appears undeterred in his plans to perform in South Africa this December, telling a non-profit which is calling for him to be barred from performing that he “can’t wait to come”.

This is after Women For Change took to Instagram to announce the petition in a bid to get the South African government, event organisers and promoters to re-consider their decision about allowing Brown to perform in Johannesburg on December 14 for his “Breezy in South Africa concert”.

The American singer was not afraid to shy away from the issue, commenting:

“Can’t wait to come” he commented to their post.

His comment has garnered 2,000 likes in just 16 hours.

In his response to the Women For Change Instagram post, fans commended him for not shying away.

Instagram user, @breezys.bestie commented, “I know that’s f*** right! And those 200 000 people cannot wait to see you there.

Instagram user @thekingtreaty_gbz commented, “lol if they go low, team breezy is gonna go lower”

Another Instagram user @frvr_br555zy commented, “They can’t stop you with fake petition”

Many fans were excited to hear that Chris Brown will be performing in South Africa, with tickets for the first concert selling out within hours. However, the announcement also sparked an online debate.

Despite his history of abuse being globally known on social media, many of his fans are standing up for him regardless of the allegations against him. He even managed to sell out the tickets of his event, which prompted him to do another event.

The Women for Change petition has received over 31,221 signatures since it started on October 2. The petition calls on Home Affairs to revoke Chris Brown’s visa and prevent him from performing for South Africans to unite and take a stand against GBVF (gender-based violence and femicide).
