"The Polygamist" continues to have Mzansi in a chokehold and now the Netflix hit has found itself making waves beyond South Africa's borders, again.

Somehow, it has even managed to pull American singer Joe Jonas - yeah, the kid from "Camp Rock" - into the conversation.

The internet was never going to ignore that.

The moment started when Joe Jonas, one-third of the Jonas Brothers, came across clips from the series featuring the lead character Jonasi Gomora.

Somewhere between “Jonasi” and “Jonas”, the algorithm clearly decided: this is your business now.

Taking to TikTok recently, Jonas shared clips from "The Polygamist" where Jonasi's name is repeatedly mentioned throughout the series. Looking equal parts confused and amused: "Ummm, Netflix, I just wanna talk… Hey, so what's happening?"

Fair enough. If your name keeps getting shouted in a dramatic South African telenovela, you are allowed to ask questions. Netflix South Africa clearly saw the moment and said, “let’s make this worse (in the best way).”

Meanwhille, earlier this week, the platform dropped a perfectly edited mash-up on TikTok, blending scenes from "The Polygamist" where Jonasi Gomora, played by Sdumo Mtshali, is repeatedly called by his wives, Joyce Gomora (Gugu Gumede) and Matipa Nkosi (Kwanele Mthethwa).

And if you know, you know.

With a bit of editing magic, “Jonasi” and the shortened “Jo” start sounding dangerously like “Jonas” and “Joe”, turning a serious family drama into what feels like Joe Jonas accidentally starring in a very chaotic polygamous household.

The viral moment has only added to the buzz surrounding "The Polygamist", which is still dominating conversations both in Mzansi and abroad.

And let's be honest, many of us are probably about to hit "Play Episode 1" all over again. No judgement here.
