After months of anticipation from fans, Tyler Perry's movie “Why Did I Get Married Again” has a release date.
Set to debut on Netflix in September “Why Did I Get Married Again?” is sequel of 2007's "Why Did I Get Married?" and 2010's "Why Did I Get Married Too?".
Perry stars in the film reprising his role of Terry, and joining him in the cast are Taraji P. Henson, Jill Scott, Richard T. Jones, Tasha Smith, Michael Jai White, Lamman Rucker, Sharon Leal, Armani Greer, Everett Osborne, Da’Vinchi, Laya Deleon Hayes, Jaden Michael, Charles L. Smith, Derrick A. King, and Sydney Winbush.
In this new sequel, the couples from “Why Did I Get Married?” and “Why Did I Get Married Too?” reunite in celebration as Marcus (White) and Angela’s (Smith) daughter prepares to tie the knot.
After being apart for quite some time, they learn quickly that as much as things change, they stay the same.
The synopsis teased “realizing their children have grown up to be so much like them, they must reflect on the examples they’ve set and ask themselves that age-old question, why did they get married… again?”
Speaking to People magazine, Perry said “Introducing this new generation of characters gave us an opportunity to give the kids an opportunity to shine and go through things and eventually realize they’re not perfect and neither were their parents.”
He also shared excitement for viewers to see have the character have grown since the last movie.“I am most excited for audiences to see how these characters have matured and how their love for each other took them through some really hard times.
“It’s a wonderful reminder of how people grow, change, mature and settle into what marriage is and not what we think it is when we’re young,” he told the publication.
