Azana’s new single “Shona Phantsi” is a reminder to celebrate life’s moments.

Released on Friday, November 22, the feel-good song seeks to get fans into the festive spirit as the year winds down.

“This song is all about feeling good and celebrating life,” the songstress said in a statement.

“As we approach December, it’s important to embrace joy and take a moment to appreciate everything we’ve experienced this year and ‘Shona Phantsi’ is a jam to remind us to let loose and enjoy the last stretch of 2024.”

The “Higher” hitmaker has become renowned for her velvety vocals, soulful sounds and infectious energy.

“‘Shona Phantsi’ promises to be no exception, blending uplifting beats with a message of gratitude and celebration,” a statement added.

And with the holidays a few weeks away, it is set to be a crowd favourite on playlists nationwide.

“Whether at parties, road trips or family gatherings, this song will have everyone dancing and celebrating the moments that matter most.”

Although the 24-year-old is still a music newcomer, she has been making a name for herself since she broke into the industry when she collaborated with Sun-El Musician on the single "Uhuru" in April 2020.

A month later, she released her first solo single, "Your Love", which went on to be certified double platinum by the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA).

Azana then released her debut studio album “Ingoma” in June of that year. It peaked at No 1 on Apple Music Pop Chart and was nominated for Best Afro Pop Album at the 2021 South African Music Awards (Samas).

She was also nominated at that year’s Samas for Newcomer of the Year.

Some of her other career highlights so far include her feature on Platoon's compilation album “African Lullabies Part 1” in October 2021. She has also worked with the likes of Sam Deep, Prince Kaybee, Major League DJz and Mpho.Wav.

∎ “Shona Phantsi” is currently available on all major digital streaming platforms.
