Music producer M-Touch continues to enjoy the acclaim for his recent collaboration with Bassie and Ranger on the track “Kwelanga 2.0.”
“Kwelanga 2.0”, featuring TMan Xpress and Lee McKrazy, won three awards at the 2025 Metro FM Music Awards; Best Music Video, Best Amapiano Song, and Best Collaboration Song.
Having seen the success of “Kwelanga”, M-Touch admits that he had expected to walk away with one award but three was the cherry on top.
M-Touch shared with IOL Entertainment how he knew the song would be a hit as soon as Bassie was done recording. “I couldn’t stop playing it thereafter, I kinda knew it would be a hit”.
The song was recorded sometime late 2023 when Thulani Way brought him and Ranger into studio to record with Bassie
“Kwelanga 2.0” has not only achieved success on the charts but also gone viral on social media. “I remember opening TikTok and seeing ‘Kwelanga’ everywhere,” recalls M-Touch.
“I was so overwhelmed and immediately called Ranger to tell him we might have a very big song .
Turning 27 in June, M-Touch got into music after he matriculated in 2016 and studied sound engineering for two years at Boston College. “I was a lot into drama during high school so I decided to venture into sound engineering after.”
Born and bred in Pretoria, the young talent, real name Bulelwa Tibane, coined the name M-Touch in high school. “It was ‘M’fana ‘Touch’line in full and I decided to shorten it when I had to come up with a stage name hence the name M-Touch.”
