Booked and busy, Halle Bailey is showing no signs of slowing down.

The talented American singer-songwriter and actress is set to star in a new film, “Italianna”, alongside Regé-Jean Page for Universal Pictures.

Besides being known for her music, Bailey is also known for her breakout role as Ariel in Disney's live-action remake of “The Little Mermaid”, and her supporting role as Nettie in “The Color Purple”, and has been making waves in the entertainment industry.

The 25-year-old artist first rose to fame as part of the R&B duo Chloe x Halle, alongside her sister Chloe Bailey.

The duo gained recognition after performing at President Barack Obama's inaugural ball and later became the opening act for Beyoncé's Formation World Tour.

Page, on the other hand, is a 37-year-old British actor who gained widespread recognition for his role as Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings, in the Netflix series “Bridgerton”.

His performance earned him a nomination for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series, which he won.

According to Deadline, “Italianna” will be produced by Will Packer and Johanna Byer through Will Packer Productions' first-look deal with Universal Pictures.

Plot details for the film, to be directed by Kat Coiro, are being kept under wraps.

In other news, Bailey was previously set to star in the movie musical “Golden”, based on the childhood of multitalented Pharrell Williams.

However, the project has been permanently shelved and will no longer be moving forward.

“Golden” was initially titled “Atlantis” and was set to be directed by Michel Gondry, with a wide theatrical release planned for May 2025.

The project, though canceled, had an impressive cast including Bailey, Janelle Monáe, Missy Elliott, Quinta Brunson, and Anderson Paak to list a few, but unfortunately, fans will not get to see this story come to life on the big screen.

With “Italianna” coming up, fans can look forward to seeing Bailey and Page bring this mysterious story to life.
