Controversial social media motormouth Nota Baloyi says rapper KO played a significant role in him being sent to prison last year. Baloyi was sentenced to 60 days behind bars for contempt of court.
He was sentenced after he missed a number of court appearances which were related to his defamation case by rapper Ntokozo “KO” Mdluli. Nota made damning allegations linking the rapper to the February 2023 murder of rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes.
The former music executive was in conversation with DJ Sbu on the Hustlers Corner.
Baloyi had been charged for alleged defamation after he made comments on social media which suggested that KO was aware or purportedly had a hand in the death of AKA.
According to Nota, the legal actions against him were fueled by misunderstandings, and he blamed social media for deliberately twisting his words, leading to KO being framed.
Nota told DJ Sbu that he suggested that KO’s brother, who was also AKA’s road manager, had a duty to ensure the deceased’s safety.
"His brother should have ensured that Kiernan gets home safe, because that's the job of a road manager, to make sure you get to and from your gigs safe," Nota explained.
He asserted that the role of a road manager was clear, referencing his own experience with road managers.
However, Nota alleged that KO's team had manipulated the situation to paint him as the one responsible for AKA’s murder, which was not the case.
"KO sent me to prison, that’s what happened," Nota stated bluntly.
"They paid judges, they paid sheriffs, they paid to get a ruling against me while I was in a mental facility. I couldn't attend court, and they defaulted a ruling against me," he said.
Nota claimed that during his time in the mental health facility, he was unable to participate in his defence due to his circumstances.

Moreover, Nota revealed that he had gone into hiding after learning that there were individuals actively trying to have him killed.
"These guys were chasing after me. It was a real thing. When I was in the US, I was on the run for my life.
“I could not come back to South Africa until I had a guarantee that people involved in Kiernan’s murder were arrested," he said.
Meanwhile, Nota was also arrested in connection with a sexual assault case. The matter is still pending.
