WATCH: Tyler Perry goes on a safari ahead of #GlobalCitizenFestivalSA

American actor, screenwriter and director Tyler Perry is in South Africa for the Global Citizen Festival and has been fitting in some adventure ahead of the concert.

The "Madea" star took to Instagram to share a video of him on safari and seemed pretty freaked out when he spotted a pride of lions. 

He captioned the video:  " A pride of lions! This is the kind of crap I talk about others for doing and here I am in an open vehicle. What would @madea say?! (sic)"

Perry, who was also the commencement speaker at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy on Friday. Winfrey, who usually does the talk, was unable to do so as she joined Graca Machel, Mandela's widow and an advocate of women's and children's rights, at the Soweto campus of the University of Johannesburg on Thursday.

He is also a co-host at Africa's first-ever Global Citizen Festival in Johannesburg on Sunday.
