Rihanna is officially celebrating two decades of music greatness, and she’s taking a moment to reflect on the incredible journey that started with her debut album, Music of the Sun, released on August 29, 2005.

In an emotional Instagram post over the weekend, the Barbadian superstar shared her gratitude with the people who have been part of her rise.

“Twenty years ago, I left my country, my culture, my food, and family to embark on a journey that started with the release of my very first body of music,” she wrote.

She went on to thank her fans for being “the most loyal, die-hard” supporters, her hardworking team, her family, industry mentors, and, above all, God, for guiding her every step of the way.

To mark the milestone, Rihanna dropped her “R20” merchandise collection that has her fans buzzing.

At the centre of the drop is “Rhenna,” the stick-figure cartoon version of the singer that originated from a fan meme and has since become her digital avatar.

The collection includes an all-black hoodie with the Rhenna figure and “20 Years With You” lettering, a layered tee featuring a black-and-white portrait shot by Dennis Leupold, and a vinyl box set that packs all eight of her studio albums.

Rihanna’s career took off with her breakout single "Pon de Replay", but it was tracks like "Umbrella", "We Found Love", and "Diamonds" that cemented her status as one of the biggest artists of her generation.

Known for constantly reinventing her sound while staying true to her roots, she’s collected nine Grammys, billions of streams, and a legacy that goes far beyond the charts.

From island girl to global icon, Rihanna’s impact on music, fashion, and culture is undeniable.

She has built an empire that includes not just her chart-topping albums but also her successful ventures, such as Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty.

Music Of The Sun was her first album.
