The sports economy in KwaZulu-Natal will receive another welcome boost as the sport of Wrestling continues to grow with another event planned for Durban on 1 August.
Wrestlers and fans from outside the province are expected to converge in Durban.
The World Wrestling Alliance (WWA), headed by Chatsworth, Durban-based Wrestler Daryl Naidu, known as Nightmare in the ring, previously hosted two successful wrestling shows earlier this year at Oceans Mall in Umhlanga and Kwadukuza Mall.
Naidu said that the WWA has continued to grow from strength to strength. “Wrestling fans from across KwaZulu-Natal have turned out in impressive numbers, creating an electric atmosphere and proving that professional wrestling is thriving once again. The overwhelming support from fans has inspired the WWA to raise the bar for Hotel Savera Wrestle Rampage on 1 August.”
Naidu noted that Hotel Savera Wrestle Rampage isn't just about wrestling. “Fans attending the event will have opportunities to win cash prizes along with a variety of exciting giveaways made possible through partnerships with Nasty ENRG Drink, BYD Pinetown, Pelican Pharmacy, and other valued sponsors. Spectators are encouraged to arrive early to take part in the activities and promotional giveaways taking place throughout the afternoon.”
Naidu added that the event will officially launch the WWA Celebrity/Influencer Championship League.
“This groundbreaking concept will invite celebrities, social media personalities, content creators, and influencers to step into the ring and challenge one another for championship glory in various challenges. To commemorate the launch, the WWA has commissioned a spectacular custom-designed WWA Celebrity/Influencer Championship Belt, which will become the ultimate prize in this brand-new division.”

Naidu said that the innovative championship is expected to create exciting crossover entertainment while introducing new audiences to professional wrestling and providing fans with dream match-ups between some of South Africa's most recognisable personalities.
Naidu added that with increasing attendance, expanding corporate partnerships, and innovative new entertainment concepts, the World Wrestling Alliance continues to establish itself as one of South Africa's fastest-growing professional wrestling promotions.

Naidu said that the main event of the evening will see Nightmare take on his former student Joshua The Bull.
“This has become one of the most personal rivalries in WWA history. Our bad blood stems from our recent Tag Team Championship opportunity in Port Elizabeth. During the championship match, Joshua The Bull "accidentally" delivered a devastating spear to his own partner, which cost us the tag team titles.”
Naidu added that he was left furious after the shocking incident, refusing to believe it was an accident. “Considering the two of us had not been on speaking terms for many years before reluctantly joining forces, I believe the spear was anything but accidental. Fans can expect an explosive showdown as we finally settle our differences inside the ring.”
