As the festive season approaches, Absa, one of Africa's leading financial institutions, is gearing up to reward its customers in a big way.
In partnership with Visa, the bank has unveiled the "Absa Summer of Rewards" campaign, aiming to distribute R120 million in cashback and prizes to its Rewards members this summer.
Running from 15 October 2025 until 15 January 2026, the initiative encourages customers to engage in their usual festive spending while being rewarded for it. By simply using their Absa Visa Debit or Credit Cards for contactless transactions or through digital wallets such as Samsung Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Garmin Pay, and Fitbit Pay, Rewards members can earn cashback based on their loyalty tier.
Alicia Raynard, Executive: Absa Rewards at Absa Personal and Private Banking, emphasised the significance of this campaign.
“In South Africa, summers coincide with school holidays and the festive season, creating a surge in consumer spending. This campaign is not only a gesture of gratitude towards our loyal customers but also a means to enhance their festive celebrations," she said.
But the rewards don't stop at cashback.
The much-anticipated Absa Swiper competition is returning to national radio stations, offering even more thrilling prizes.
Daily cash giveaways and a chance to win one of ten brand-new Jaecoo J5 vehicles await lucky participants who enter via WhatsApp on 067 384 0022. In a further bonus, these winners will receive three months of complimentary insurance from Absa Activate.
To keep the spirit of giving alive throughout the summer, Absa Rewards customers will also benefit from exclusive offers during Black Friday Week. From 24 November to 2 December 2025, customers can earn up to 100% cashback when shopping at participating partners such as Checkers, Shoprite, Pick n Pay, Woolworths, Sasol, Dischem, and Food Lovers market, provided they pay via contactless methods or shop online.
